summertime safety tips
Water Safety
- Always supervise children when swimming
- Remind children to never swim alone
- Keep pool gates closed and locked when not in use
- Remind children to avoid swallowing water while swimming
Heat & Sun Safety
- Stay hydrated!
- provide cool drinks plenty of water
- Prevent sunburn
- Use sunscreen minimal SPE 15
- Remember to test patch on small area first to check for any reactions
- Keep small children in the shade out of direct sunlight
Yard & Bug Safe
- Avoid tick/bug bites by using insect repellent
- Check for ticks after outside play and remove from clothes & skin with tweezers
- May use DEET 10-307. recommended by AAP
- Call office for any major reactions
- Avoid outdoors when mosquitos are bad
- Know your plants!
- Avoid poison ivy/ poison oak
Play Safe
- Always wear helmet while riding bikes, scooters & skateboards
- Never leave hot grill/ fire pit unattended
